Programme Officer | World Vision Bangladesh

Responsibilities & Context

The Programme Officer (PO) is responsible for writing proposals, editing of reports, and close support to sector leads and key operational staff. The role provides close coordination between World Vision (WV) Bangladesh Refugee Response stakeholders and donors or WV HQ offices (Support Office) colleagues and will work closely with the GAM Manager and MEAL manager. The PO is not responsible for implementing projects, but is a key advisor in helping projects be implemented well. 

  • Reporting and Coordination
    Coordinate with M&E and project leads to assure monitoring and evaluation obligations are understood and implemented. Support the Facilitation of startup workshops for new projects to ensure project staff have all needed documentation and tools for reporting and records keeping. Design and support the implementation of the Project monitoring plans, including required external and internal reporting. Guide sector leads in the reporting requirements and templates. Edit and revise as needed. Review all monitoring & evaluation learnings and support integration of those lessons back into projects. 
  • Information Management
    Maintain response project archives (saving project documents into database/shared drive). Compile and analyze relevant information to inform response design, programme management, operational improvement and promote learning. Support programs team and GAM Manager with special projects or occasional clerical tasks as needed.
  • Accountability
    Where relevant, work with project staff to address any quality issues or complaints and support community consultation and information provision mechanisms. Orient and train response staff on international standards and their application. In coordination with MEAL team, ensure programming meets WV minimum quality standards and supports improvement, reflection and learning (includes RTE and Lessons Learned events)
  • Program design and proposal development
    Support the GAM manager in writing proposals when required. Co-facilitate design workshops or meetings as needed to collectively plan new project designs with sector leads. Work with programs team and sectors leads to meet with and position with donors as needed. Work with various internal and external stakeholders to keep apprised of the context, needs, clusters, actors and donors related to the response and national office

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • University bachelor’s degree in a field related to community development work preferably in fields such as anthropology, sociology, international/ political studies, humanitarian law, public health, population studies or any other relevant Social Science department, and Business Studies
  • Master’s degree in above related fields is preferred

Experience

  • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO
