SereneQuran: AI-powered spiritual guidance at your fingertips

During the era where technology has penetrated every corner of our lives, the integration of artificial intelligence with spiritual guidance presents a fascinating intersection. SereneQuran is such an invention created within an Islamic periphery by Raiyan Bin Sarwar, who is currently enrolled in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Professionals.

The web app enables you the convenience to read Quranic verses reflecting on your current needs and emotion.

First inception

The idea behind SereneQuran emerged organically, it started through conversations about idea generation competitions. This inspiration quickly manifested into actualisation, fueled by Raiyan’s prior experience with DrikAI, a platform showcasing multiple AI models.

“One day, during a casual discussion, the idea for SereneQuran emerged spontaneously. With the vision in mind, I spent several days working relentlessly to turn the idea into a fully functional web app,” said Raiyan.

Information sourcing

The accuracy and reliability of interpretations are a must when we are talking about literal Quranic verses. The platform sources its interpretations from trusted and reputable sources, although the developer acknowledges the limitations of AI models. He stated, “It’s important to acknowledge the technical limitations of the AI model. While we strive to provide reliable and accurate information, we encourage users to reach out if they notice any discrepancies or inaccuracies, so the issue can be addressed and corrected promptly.”

User response

The user response has resembled their expectations through the positive impacts it got. The numbers within the first few days have grown surprisingly well, and the feedback received has also been encouraging. “Within the first three days of launch, SereneQuran surpassed a thousand users. One common theme in the feedback is that many users had been searching for such a web-app.”

The future

Raiyan envisions expanding SereneQuran‘s functionalities, including Hadith recommendations, audio features, and a Zakat calculator, based on user feedback. For aspiring developers, he offers the advice: “As a third-year CSE undergraduate, my advice would be to start small, focus on making a tangible impact, and never stop experimenting. The journey from concept to realisation requires persistence, and exploring opportunities that align with innovation and societal benefit can lead to transformative outcomes.”
