DU takes steps to improve student services for transcripts, certificates, and mark sheets

The University of Dhaka has taken a series of administrative measures to improve the quality of services related to issuing transcripts, certificates, and mark sheets for students. In a recent notice, the university stated that complaints and service-related issues will now be handled under the supervision of Deputy Registrar Aminul Islam from the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration).

Students facing difficulties may now report their issues via email at [email protected] or through WhatsApp text only at 01797-490575. The administration has committed to responding and resolving each complaint within two working days.

To facilitate international applications, the university regularly sends transcripts to institutions abroad via email. The service charge for this has been significantly reduced—from $50 to $10—applicable only for international dispatches.

The university clarified that no cash is accepted for transcript collection. Students must pay the designated fees through Sonali Bank’s DU branch, or via online and mobile banking platforms. However, affiliated colleges are yet to be brought under the online system.

While online applications for transcripts are already active for DU students, services like online attestation for certificates, transcripts, and mark sheets are still pending. The administration aims to roll out these services within the next two months to make the process more efficient and student-friendly.

In addition, the university plans to publish detailed guidelines on transcript and certificate collection within two working days on its official website. Courier-based delivery options for hard copies are also under consideration to ensure timely delivery.

To further enhance the student experience, the transcript office is being relocated to a larger space, and the university’s information centre is also being redesigned to better cater to student needs.
