After three days of protests, the government has accepted Jagannath University students’ three-point demand. UGC Chairman Prof. S M A Faiz announced the decision on Friday (16 May) evening after meeting student representatives in Kakrail.
Earlier, students staged a sit-in near the Chief Adviser’s residence. The government is expected to unveil a resolution roadmap within hours.
Meanwhile, a student who threw a bottle at Adviser Mahfuz Alam was released after questioning. Ganasamhati Andolan’s Zonayed Saki backed the students, urging the government to hold dialogue and avoid delays in resolving the crisis.
