SUST Business Club unveils second executive committee

SUST Business Club, the first student organisation devoted to business and corporate affairs at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) announced its second executive committee during a vibrant handover ceremony held earlier this week.
Abdullah Sikdar, a student from the Department of Business Administration (Batch 2020–21), was elected president, while Mahmud Bhuiyan, of the same batch, assumed the role of general secretary. The leadership team also includes Tahmid Aziz Chowdhury as executive vice president; Jabed Islam serving as vice president for administration; Rahma Binte Nazim as joint secretary; Ramim Ahmed overseeing finance; Imtiaz Ahmed Mahim managing internal affairs; Saikot Roy handling external affairs; Payel Ahmed in charge of logistics; Soikat Saha responsible for branding and promotions; Munirah Binte Mizan guiding business development and training; Alvee Alam looking after business communication; Jannatul Mohua Shimu overseeing corporate affairs; Amit Das focusing on skill and research development; and Keya Das Gupta also contributing as vice president of external affairs.
Since its inception on 1 May 2024, the SUST Business Club has blossomed swiftly, enrolling over 500 members and forging strong partnerships with business houses, corporate entities, and multinational firms. Its flagship event, BIZEXPO 1.0, brought together aspiring business leaders and students from across Bangladesh, blending business case competitions, innovative idea challenges, and networking sessions featuring noted figures such as Nafees Salim, Nazim Farhan Chowdhury, and Neel Nafis. The Business Standard lent its support as media partner, with TBS Graduates standing as the youth engagement partner.
Corporate advisor Rejaul Karim Hiron offered warm congratulations, highlighting the vital importance of continuity, innovation, and leadership in shaping the club’s future path. In his address, newly elected President Abdullah Sikdar expressed heartfelt gratitude to the founding members and shared his vision for the journey ahead. “We are devoted to building upon the strong foundation laid by our predecessors,” he said, “and will strive to broaden our impact within the business and corporate landscape nationwide.”
The handover ceremony also saw the presence of outgoing president Md Raqib Ahmed Chowdhury, outgoing general secretary Arnob Paul, and several founding committee members, who stood witness to this new chapter in the club’s unfolding story.
