The Islamic Knowledge and Seekers’ Society (IKSS) at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has launched a free umbrella-sharing initiative on campus—believed to be the first of its kind at any university in Bangladesh.

Aimed at assisting students and staff caught in sudden rain, the service officially began on 16 July. Umbrella-sharing points have been installed at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building and the J.C. Bose Academic Building.

Under the system, users can take an umbrella when needed and return it after use. The initiative promotes a culture of care, cooperation, and shared responsibility within the campus community.
