Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) organised a special programme titled “Clean Campus, Green Future” on 12 August 2025 to encourage sustainable waste management in line with SDG 11 and SDG 12. The event aimed to foster a culture of environmental responsibility by installing new dustbins.

The programme, held from 10:00am to 12:30pm, featured a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Md. Safiul Islam Afrad, Treasurer of GAU, on the theme “Waste Management in Universities: Pathway to Global Sustainability Rankings” Prof. Dr. M. Moynul Haque, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GAU, also shared his views, highlighting the university’s role in sustainability practices.

The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, emphasised the importance of collective action to ensure a clean and green campus. The event concluded with a symbolic dustbin installation and a campus walk, reaffirming GAU’s commitment to building an eco-friendly and sustainable academic environment.
