The East West University (EWU) Health and Well-being Club, in collaboration with LifeStraw and OMC Healthcare, organised a seminar on “WASH: Concerns, Consequences & Care” on 25 August 2025, at Room 354 of EWU. The event, held from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, drew active participation from students and club members.

Distinguished guests included Md Wahidul Islam Murad, superintendent engineer and project director of Dhaka WASA; Jahangir Hassan, head of consumer division at OMC Healthcare; Touhida Tasnima, chairperson of the Department of Social Relations; Prof Dr Mobarak Hossain Khan, professor of the Department of Social Relations; and club moderators Dr Marzia Zaman Sultana, senior lecturer, and Md Sanaul Haque Mandal, assistant professor of the Department of Social Relations.

Speakers emphasized the importance of safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in preventing diseases and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. They also highlighted Dhaka WASA’s safe water initiatives and the global impact of LifeStraw products.

The programme reinforced the club’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and holistic well-being within the university community.
