Youth’s Voice, a Chattogram-based non-profit social organisation, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Menstrual Health Management (MHM) programme with a series of events combining art, sports, and advocacy.

The celebration began in June with a futsal tournament organised in partnership with Ispahani Group. It continued with a three-day art exhibition, Celebrating the Many Faces of Femininity, held from 15 to 17 August at the Chattogram Zila Shilpakala Academy. The event was accompanied by the final round and closing ceremony of the Reel for Red videography competition, launched in collaboration with Safepad Bangladesh to promote sustainable menstrual hygiene practices. Pathao provided logistics support.

Centred on the theme Tale of Womanhood, the exhibition showcased artworks by artists from across the country portraying different stages of women’s lives, their struggles, and triumphs. An art competition and award ceremony on the second day drew active participation from students of various institutions.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Tahmid K Chowdhury, Founder of Youth’s Voice and Chairperson of Youth Worldwide Foundation; Monowar Hossain Ronee, Assistant General Manager of Foy’s Lake, Concord; Syed Muhammad Ayaj Mabud, District Cultural Officer of Chattogram Zila Shilpakala Academy; Sanjit Roy, Senior Fine Arts Instructor of the academy; and Nasrin Sarwar Meghla, HR Director of Prantik Group and Founder of Meghroddur. Students and members from Maya School, Barrister Milky Memorial School, Upolobdhi Foundation, Abritti Songho, and AUW Dance Club also performed in the cultural segment.

The Reel for Red competition highlighted creative ideas on menstrual health and sustainability. The judging panel included Masudur Rahman, Assistant Director of the General Education Programme and Professor of Practice in Performing Arts at AUW; Abdullah Al Kaisar, Founder of Next Wave Solutions; Kazi Rifah Noor, Lecturer at USTC; and Mainul Hasan, Interim Head of Brand Communication, Media and PR at ShareTrip. Team Break The Silence became champions, while Mashiat Ibnat Mahee and Minhaj Sultana Aklima secured first and second runners-up positions respectively.

Dr Arefin Taher, President of Youth’s Voice, said, “Our aim is not only to showcase youth creativity but also to normalise discussions on crucial topics like menstrual health management. Programmes like these are vital in breaking societal taboos and inspiring future generations through awareness.”

Since its inception in 2011, Youth’s Voice has been working to empower young people through leadership, creativity, and social welfare initiatives.
