Yesterday, nomination papers were distributed from 9:30am to 3:30pm, while today’s distribution continued from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
According to available information, for the CU Central Student Council election, nine candidates have collected nomination papers for the vice-president (VP) post, four for the general secretary (GS), and two for the assistant general secretary (AGS) position.
When asked about the possibility of extending the nomination paper collection period, Election Commissioner Monir Uddin said, “We are not currently considering any extension. Even if candidates continue to arrive by 3:30pm tomorrow and it stretches to midnight, we will accommodate them. We hope students complete the collection within the scheduled period.”
The distribution of nomination papers will continue until Tuesday (16 September), while candidates must submit them by 17 September.
The Cucsu and hall union elections are scheduled to be held on 12 October. The last edition took place in 1990, making this the first election at Chittagong University in 35 years.
