Sixth International Karate Championship 2025 held at JUST

The Sixth International Karate Championship 2025 was held at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) on Friday (10 October), organised by the Department of Physical Education in collaboration with the Bangladesh Karate Federation (BKO).
The event kicked off at 11am at the Bir Sreshtho Hamidur Rahman Gymnasium, inaugurated by JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdul Majid.
Competitors from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Japan participated in the championship, which featured multiple categories and events throughout the day. The atmosphere was filled with energy and cultural exchange, as athletes from different nations displayed their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship.
In his opening speech, Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Majid expressed his appreciation for the organisers, saying,
“I would like to thank the Bangladesh Karate Federation for bringing this international competition to JUST. This event is not merely a sports contest — it represents unity, mutual respect, and the strengthening of international friendship.”
The daylong event concluded with an award ceremony, where guests presented prizes to the winners of various events.
The ceremony was presided over by Humayun Kabir, President of the Bangladesh Karate Federation’s Jashore District Branch, while other distinguished guests included Dr Md Shahedur Rahman, Director of JUST’s Department of Physical Education, along with faculty members, officials, international coaches, guardians, and students of the university.
The competition not only promoted athletic excellence but also reinforced cultural ties among South Asian nations — a proud moment for the JUST campus and the Jashore community.
