The Department of Public Relations at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), in collaboration with the Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media (BIJEM), successfully organised a career-focused training workshop titled “News Presentation & Reporting” on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall. Supported by the BUFT Brand Ambassador Team, the event brought together around 400 students from various departments who actively participated in an engaging and interactive learning experience. The workshop was designed to enhance students’ practical skills in journalism, with a particular focus on news reporting techniques, presentation styles, and ethical practices in the media industry. This initiative reflects BUFT’s ongoing commitment to bridging academic education with industry-oriented training.

A panel of renowned media professionals conducted the sessions, sharing their expertise and real-world insights with the participants. Among the resource persons were Mr Mohsin ul Hakim, senior journalist; Mr Mohammad Imtiaj, senior news presenter at Channel 24; Ms Israt Amin and Mr Mahbub Hasan, both senior news presenters at 71 TV; Dr Faiza Rahlaa, senior news presenter at ATN News; Mr Masum Khan, senior journalist and Executive Director of BIJEM; and Ms Moushumi Lopa, senior news presenter at Jamuna TV. Throughout the sessions, students actively participated in hands-on activities, practical demonstrations, and thought-provoking discussions led by the experts. The workshop created an engaging platform for students to interact with seasoned professionals and gain firsthand knowledge of the media landscape.

The event was honoured by the presence of several high-ranking university officials, including Prof. Dr Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT; Prof. Dr Md Alamgir, Treasurer; Mr Md Rafiquzzaman, Registrar; as well as deans, department heads, and senior officers.
