BPL

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has unveiled the new franchises set to light up the nation’s main T20 tournament this season.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named five teams in a statement on Thursday: Dhaka Capitals, Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Titans.

The five franchises were confirmed after registration and evaluation had finished. This decision followed several meetings between the BCB and franchise representatives to ensure compliance with the financial and operational requirements outlined in the new five-year agreement.

Officials said they selected the teams to ensure transparency and stability.

With this announcement, franchise approval is complete. Preparations can now begin, including player registration and the draft on 17 November.

The 2025–26 BPL is set to start in mid-December. The league remains a key stage for domestic and international cricketers.
