North South University Pharmaceutical Club (NSUPC), in collaboration with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North South University (NSU), organised Pharma Camp 2025 on 12 December 2025 in Char Bhabanipur and adjacent areas of Kushtia.

The two-day outreach initiative aimed to provide basic primary healthcare services to underprivileged and marginalised communities with limited access to medical facilities.

The camp focused on addressing common health issues affecting people of different age groups. Services included primary diagnosis of diseases and the distribution of free over-the-counter medicines.

Pharma Camp 2025 was conducted by a 19-member team, including 14 students from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who gained hands-on field experience while contributing to community healthcare. The initiative was supervised by faculty members Adit Muktadir Pavel, Dr Ferdous Khan and Dr Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Two physicians from Sono Hospital in Kushtia also provided on-site medical consultations during the camp.

The initiative reflected NSUPC’s continued commitment to social responsibility by enabling students to apply academic knowledge in real-life settings while addressing healthcare gaps in remote communities.

Organisers said similar community-based healthcare programmes would be expanded in the future as part of the department’s and the club’s broader commitment to public welfare across Bangladesh.
