The North South University Pharmaceutical Club (NSUPC), in collaboration with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North South University (NSU), organised Pharma Camp 2025 on December 12, 2025, in Char Bhabanipur and surrounding areas of Kushtia. The two-day outreach programme aimed to provide essential primary healthcare services to underprivileged and destitute communities in the region.

The initiative was undertaken to address the scarcity of primary healthcare facilities in the remote area, offering services to people of all ages and genders. Key services included primary diagnosis of common diseases and the distribution of free over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. The medicines were provided by Incepta Pharmaceuticals.

A total of 19 members were involved in executing the camp, including 14 students from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The students gained hands-on field experience while contributing to community healthcare delivery.

The programme was supervised by faculty members of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Adit Muktadir Pavel, Dr Ferdous Khan and Dr Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman. In addition, two physicians from Sono Hospital, Kushtia, provided on-site medical consultations to the beneficiaries.

According to the organisers, the camp reflects NSUPC’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. By applying academic knowledge in a real-world setting, students helped bridge a critical gap in primary healthcare access for the local population.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the North South University Pharmaceutical Club stated that they plan to expand similar community-based healthcare initiatives in the future as part of their broader commitment to public welfare across Bangladesh.
