Netflix has officially unveiled its comprehensive 2026 programming schedule, promising a blockbuster year headlined by the return of Black Mirror and a high-stakes Peaky Blinders feature film.
Creator Charlie Brooker confirmed this week that Black Mirror has been renewed for an eighth season, with production already “whirring away” to reflect our increasingly dystopian reality.
This announcement follows a highly successful seventh season that dropped in 2025, and while a specific date for the new episodes is yet to be finalised, the series remains a cornerstone of the streamer’s ambitious 2026 slate.
The year kicks off with the return of Bridgerton, as season four debuts in two parts on 29 January and 26 February, centering on Benedict Bridgerton’s romantic quest at a masquerade ball. Fans of the high seas can look forward to the live-action One Piece returning for its second season on 10 March, followed closely by the 20 March premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
The film features Cillian Murphy’s return as Tommy Shelby, who emerges from exile to face a harrowing challenge in a Second World War setting.
Other major highlights include Enola Holmes 3, which sees Millie Bobby Brown’s young detective taking on a dangerous new case in Malta during a scheduled summer release.
Meanwhile, Avatar: The Last Airbender returns for its second season as Aang and his companions seek the Earth King’s aid against Fire Lord Ozai. With a sixth season of Emily in Paris also confirmed for 2026, Netflix aims to deliver a diverse mix of action, romance, and mystery to its global audience throughout the year.
