The two-day tournament, held on 25 and 26 January 2026, focused on business, economic, and monetary affairs, bringing together analytical minds and confident voices from across the department.
The competition commenced on 25 January with two tabulation rounds followed by a semi-final round. Debaters from different batches of the department participated, engaging with motions centred on contemporary business and economic issues. Based on individual scores, six debaters advanced to the Final Round. The first day’s sessions were adjudicated by respected alumni from various debating clubs, ensuring a competitive yet intellectually enriching environment.
The Final Round took place on 26 January 2026 at the Professor Dr Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. The round was contested between Team Accounts and Team Economists, with Team Economists emerging as the Champion after a compelling exchange of arguments. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students of all batches of the Department of Accounting.
The Final Round was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Professor Amirus Salat, Moderator of the Dhaka University Debating Society; Dr Moshahida Sultana, Moderator of the Accounting Debating Club; Mohammad Shimul Hasan, alumnus of the Accounting Debating Club and former Vice President of the Dhaka University Debating Society; and Ragib Anjum, General Secretary of the Dhaka University Debating Society.
