Through the competition, participants gained hands-on experience in newspaper editing, news writing techniques, analytical thinking, and the fundamental concepts of journalism. Students from various educational institutions across the country took part and showcased their skills across different segments of the contest.

The programme began with participant registration, followed by the Newspaper VOI Olympiad, conducted through VOI activities based on national daily newspapers. At different stages of the competition, participants demonstrated their abilities through news analysis, presentation, and critical thinking.

As part of JournoFest, a special session titled “Basic Journalism” was held at the NITER Conference Room, jointly edited by The Business Standard and TBS Graduates. The session focused on journalistic ethics, the role of the media, and the realities of the profession.

After the lunch break, an exhibition-style fashion show was organised with the participation of the NITER Fashion Club, adding further vibrancy to the event. This was followed by speeches from invited guests, who offered motivational guidance and insights to the students.

In the Newspaper VOI Olympiad, Sadman Sakib Sad secured first place, Sajid Mashrafi Fuad finished second, and Nafiza Binte Aziz claimed third place. The winners were presented with awards and certificates in the presence of organisers and guests.

Towards the end of the day, a special session was held at NITER’s open stage featuring popular journalist and content creator Mrinmita Majumdar. She shared her professional experiences, challenges, and opportunities in journalism, generating keen interest among the attending students.

The national-level, day-long event concluded with a formal closing ceremony. Organisers expressed hope that such initiatives in the future would further encourage students to engage in journalism and play a significant role in nurturing skilled journalists for the country.
