The Department of Television, Film and Photography (TFP) at the University of Dhaka celebrated its 14th founding anniversary on Sunday in a warm and vibrant atmosphere, marked by academic exchange, cultural performances, and a strong sense of community.
The celebration began with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by faculty members, students, alumni, and invited guests, symbolising the department’s journey and collective achievements over the years.
Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Dhaka, attended the programme as the chief guest. His presence added significance to the occasion and reflected the university’s continued support for creative and media education.
The event was further enriched by the participation of Professor Daniel W Lund, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), and Dr Imran Firdaus, Chairman of the Department of Media and Communication, IUB, highlighting inter-institutional academic engagement.
Students, alumni, and representatives from various departments joined the celebration, contributing to an atmosphere of lively interaction and institutional exchange.
The programme concluded with a cultural segment performed by TFP students, showcasing their creativity and energy through music and performance.
