Ignite Global Foundation (IGF), a leading non-governmental organisation, is set to host the Ignite Youth Climate Summit 2026 on 4 February at Bishwa Shahitto Kendro, Dhaka, with the aim of strengthening youth leadership and advancing climate action across Bangladesh.

Ignite Global Foundation (IGF), a leading non-governmental organisation, is set to host the Ignite Youth Climate Summit 2026 on 4 February at Bishwa Shahitto Kendro, Dhaka, with the aim of strengthening youth leadership and advancing climate action across Bangladesh.
Powered by Savori, the national-level summit will bring together young leaders, academics, policymakers, development practitioners, and climate advocates from all 64 districts of the country.
The initiative seeks to enhance leadership capacity, promote informed climate dialogue, and equip participants with practical skills to address climate challenges in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The day-long programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking sessions focusing on climate resilience, sustainable development, and community-driven solutions. Participants will include university students, volunteer leaders, and social entrepreneurs committed to environmental responsibility.
The event will be led by core members of Ignite Global Foundation (IGF), with the presence of Muhammad Jahirul Islam, Founder and Chairman; Israt Jahan, Operations Director; and Fazle Munim Sayket, Executive Member.
A key highlight of the summit will be a panel discussion titled “Resilient Bangladesh: Youth Innovation and Climate Action.” The session will feature Md. Shamsuddoha, Chief Executive of the Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD); Musarrat Zaman, Assistant Professor at the Department of Disaster Management and Resilience, Bangladesh University of Professionals; Md. Atiqur Rahman Mollick, environment specialist and development professional; and Shah Rafayat Chowdhury, President and Co-Founder of Footsteps Bangladesh. The panelists will discuss policy priorities, innovation, and community-led approaches to strengthening national climate resilience.
The summit will also host a featured session on Climate Communication and Advocacy, led by Md. Abdul Quayyum, Head of Communications at UNDP Bangladesh, focusing on ethical storytelling and effective public engagement. An interactive climate game session conducted by Amir Hamza, Founder of mekATeam, will engage participants in hands-on learning around climate challenges. Additionally, a fitness and wellness session will be conducted by B Proshad Das, Mr. World Bangladesh 2024, highlighting the connection between physical well-being, sustainable lifestyles, and encouraging participants to adopt healthier and more climate-conscious habits.
In addition, short thematic talks by industry leaders will encourage cross-sector dialogue and practical climate action. Tajdin Hassan, Chief Operating Officer of Keeron, will address youth upskilling; A H M Hasinul Quddus, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Daraz, will speak on industrial responsibility; and Ataur Rahman Miton, Chief Executive of Bikoshito Bangladesh, will discuss youth–NGO collaboration in climate solutions.
The event is expected to engage more than 150 participants from over 42 institutions and connect with IGF’s nationwide network of more than 37,000 volunteers. Through workshops, eco-club initiatives, and advocacy training, the summit aims to foster long-term collaboration and community impact.
The Business Standard is the media partner for the summit, while TBS Graduates has joined as the youth engagement partner.
