Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has said the university’s long-standing classroom crisis will be resolved once the ongoing vertical expansion of two academic buildings is completed.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed fifth-floor classroom unit of Academic Building-4 by cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque at a function held on Wednesday, where he attended as the chief guest.

The newly built classrooms, equipped with modern facilities, have been allocated for students of the Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, and Department of Statistics.

The vice-chancellor said the use of classrooms on the expanded fifth floor would significantly reduce the existing classroom shortage and bring greater dynamism to academic activities at the university.

“The work of vertically expanding the fourth to sixth floors of two academic buildings is currently underway. Once the construction is completed, the classroom crisis of all 22 departments of the university will be resolved,” he said.

The function was attended by Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Head of the Department of Physics Professor Dr Md Kamruzzaman, Head of the Department of Chemistry Dr Md Abdul Latif, Head of the Department of Statistics Dr Md Siddiqur Rahman, along with teachers and officials from various departments.
