As of 1 January 2026

Only seven countries have achieved 50% or more women participation in their national parliaments, measured by single or lower houses. A further 23 countries have reached or surpassed 40% female representation. Among Asian countries, only the United Arab Emirates has attained gender parity, with women holding 50% of parliamentary seats.
