Amazon reported the largest single layoff, cutting about 16,000 roles globally in late January — its second-biggest reduction after eliminating 14,000 jobs in October 2025. The company said the move completes restructuring efforts begun last year.

According to The Times of India, several other major firms have also trimmed their workforce. Salesforce has quietly laid off nearly 1,000 employees across teams including marketing, product management, data analytics, and its Agentforce AI unit. Meta reduced around 1,500 roles as it shifts investments from the metaverse to wearable technology.

Other companies announcing job cuts include Workday (400 jobs), Autodesk (1,000 jobs), Pinterest (700 jobs), Expedia (200 jobs), Zillow (200 jobs), ASML (1,700 jobs), and Ericsson, among others. The layoffs reflect ongoing cost-cutting measures and strategic realignments across the tech industry.
