2 day Model United Nations conference at CUET wraps up

The two-day Model United Nations (MUN) conference at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) ended with a joyful and festive atmosphere at the campus.

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and the Chittagong University have jointly led the celebration of the Chittagong Ethnic Community’s annual gathering under the joint venture of the Chittagong Ethnic Community and the Chittagong University

The joint venture of Model United Nations of CUET and Chittagong University (CU) made this happen with CUET MUN Club in lead.

The 40 representatives from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and 59 representatives from Chittagong University (CU) participated in the conference with a total participant of more than 100 representatives participating in this 2-day conference on the 3rd and 4th of February.

The conference was held under the auspices of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (DISEC). The representatives discussed topics such as peace and security, human rights, sustainable development, and more. The event was judged by representatives from Chittagong University and the International Islamic University Chittagong and had 11 members from the governing committee of the International University of Chittagong (AIUC) in attendance.

On the second day of the conference, an awards distribution ceremony was held in the evening. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mo Rezaul Karim, CUET Student Welfare Director, Jitu Prakash Dhar, CUET Model United Nations Club Moderator, and the event’s top sponsor, The English Academy. In his speech, Dr. Mo Rezaul Karim emphasized the importance of communication skills in education and praised the efforts of the CUET Model United Nations Club in providing students with opportunities to develop their formal communication skills.

The top sponsor of the summit included Ispahani Limited, The English Academy, and Delta Migration, and the media partner was The Business Standard and CUET News24. The festive and joyful atmosphere of the conference left a lasting impression on all who participated and showcased the commitment of CUET and Chittagong University to promoting peace, security, and sustainable development.
