Postgraduate admissions for 2025-2026 at Ruet
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) has officially invited applications for its prestigious postgraduate programmes for the 2025-2026 academic session.
Prospective candidates can now apply for PhD, MSc Engineering, M. Engineering, and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) courses offered by the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) and the Institute of Energy and Environmental Studies (IEES).
Academic Eligibility and Requirements
Admission criteria vary depending on the chosen programme of study:
- MSc and M. Engineering: Applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.50/5.00 in Secondary and Higher Secondary exams. Engineering Diploma holders require a minimum GPA of 2.75/4.00. A relevant four-year BSc degree with a CGPA of at least 2.75/4.00 is also mandatory.
- PhD Programmes: Candidates must hold an MSc Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00.
- Post Graduate Diploma (PGD): Applicants need a GPA of 3.50/5.00 in either Secondary or Higher Secondary exams, with no result falling below 3.00. Additionally, a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 is required.
Application Process and Key Dates
The university has established a clear timeline and procedure for the upcoming intake:
- Application Period: Online registrations open on 6 April 2026 and close on 27 April 2026.
- How to Apply: Forms must be completed via the official portal at www.pg.ruet.ac.bd, accompanied by a 1,000 BDT fee paid through SSL services.
- Documentation: Candidates must upload attested copies of all certificates and transcripts. Graduates from private universities must ensure their institution is UGC-approved and that their curriculum aligns with Ruet standards.
- Assessment Schedule: The list of eligible candidates will be released on 2 May 2026, followed by the admission test on 9 May 2026. Results will be announced on 11 May 2026.
Enrolment and Professional Regulations
Successful candidates must finalise their admission by 19 May 2026, with classes scheduled to begin on 7 June 2026.
- Fees: Total admission costs are 12,000 BDT for PGD students and 20,500 BDT for PhD and Master’s students.
- Employment Rules: Professionals must apply through their employers. While part-time study is an option with official consent, PhD candidates are required to take one year of formal leave.
- Previous Enrolment: Any student previously enrolled at another institution must provide an official admission cancellation certificate before joining Ruet.
