world health day

The Department of Public Health and Informatics at Jahangirnagar University, in collaboration with the Public Health Forum, organised a day-long programme to mark World Health Day 2026.

The programme began with a health awareness run titled “Run for Health”, followed by a cleanliness drive, “Clean for Health”, and a tree plantation initiative promoting environmental sustainability. A rally was also held across the campus to raise health awareness among students and the wider community.

An art competition was organised for children, while a day-long health camp offered free medical check-ups and consultations.

A debate competition, arranged in collaboration with the Jahangirnagar University Research Society, encouraged discussion on contemporary health issues, with active student participation.

The event was attended by university authorities, faculty members, students and representatives from campus organisations, including the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union and the University Press Club.

Speakers highlighted the importance of health awareness, environmental responsibility and promoting healthier lifestyles among young people.

The programme concluded with strong participation, reflecting widespread engagement across the campus community.
