While known collectively as the Baisabi festival, representing Vaisu (Tripura), Sangrai (Marma), and Bizhu (Chakma). Each community maintains its unique cultural flavour through diverse rituals. For instance, the Chakma and Tanchangya communities began their celebrations by floating flowers in the river, marking the transition from “Phul Bizhu” to the “Mul Bizhu” main event.
Throughout the hills, homes are adorned with fresh blossoms, and guests are treated to “Pachan,” a traditional dish made from a medley of assorted vegetables. The celebration will reach its peak on the 15th and 16th of April with the highly anticipated water-splashing ceremonies and cultural performances.
