Butex hosts ITET–Butex Career Fair 2026 with strong industry participation
The ITET–BUTEX Career Fair 2026 was held in a vibrant atmosphere at Bangladesh University of Textiles on 23 April 2026. Organised by the BUTEX Career Club, the day-long event took place at the university’s central field, bringing together students and leading industry players.
Supported by the Institute of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET), the fair featured Centro Tex Limited as the title sponsor, alongside Swiss Chroma Bangladesh Limited and Fashion Power Group as platinum sponsors. Aman Group joined as gold sponsor, while Babylon Group and MM Knitwear Limited participated as silver sponsors.
The primary objective of the fair was to create a practical platform for direct interaction between students and industry professionals. Around 27 organisations took part, including Centro Tex, Swiss Chroma, Babylon Group, Ha-Meem Group, Oeko-Tex Group, Urmi Group, Purbani Group, Apilion, AKH Group, Pacific Jeans, Charka Textiles Limited, Bitopi Group, Summit Dye Chemicals Limited, Florence Group, Unique Color Chemicals, and Ben-Tech Chemicals. Several companies conducted on-the-spot interviews.
The event was officially inaugurated at 9:00 AM by Vice-Chancellor Md Julhash Uddin. Following the inauguration, the campus saw a large turnout of students engaging with company representatives, submitting CVs, and exploring job and internship opportunities.
A panel discussion held at 11:00 AM brought together leading industry figures, including Tareq Amin, Mohammad Shahed Sikder, Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan, and Md Zafar Iqbal. The session explored how geopolitics is reshaping the textile industry and the evolving opportunities for fresh graduates.
Later in the afternoon, a workshop session led by Zaidur Rahman provided insights into career pathways and industry expectations.
The closing ceremony was attended by Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaysar, convener of ITET’s interim committee, Engr. Md Enayet Hossain, member secretary, and Engr. A.K.M Mohsin Ahmed, CEO of Radical Design Limited.
Speakers highlighted the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academia and industry. They noted that the fair enables fresh graduates to connect with multiple employers in a single day, significantly enhancing their career prospects.
In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Md Julhash Uddin emphasised the need to institutionalise the fair as an annual event and encouraged industry leaders to offer competitive salaries to graduates.
Organisers from the BUTEX Career Club described the event as a milestone initiative, reflecting their commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities and strengthening students’ professional readiness.
The ITET–BUTEX Career Fair 2026 ultimately served as a dynamic platform connecting aspiring textile engineers with the country’s leading industrial organisations, reinforcing the role of such engagements in shaping future careers.
