Unilever Bangladesh hosted “Learn to Lead” at Bangladesh University of Professionals on 26 April in collaboration with the BUP Business and Communication Club.
The event, held at Bijoy Auditorium on the BUP campus, brought together aspiring leaders and industry professionals for an interactive session on leadership, career development and industry readiness.
The programme was arranged for third- and fourth-year students from all departments, offering them practical insights into real-world leadership and career growth.
The session was inaugurated by Unilever Campus Ambassador Mosaddek Hossain Ankur from the BUP Business and Communication Club, who played a key role in facilitating the collaboration between Unilever and the university.
The event featured speakers from different functions of Unilever Bangladesh.
From the foods division, Omar Faruq shared insights from his role as CSP lead, while Kazi Intekhab Alam discussed strategic perspectives from his work in special projects.
From the personal care and skincare segment, Ishfaque Ahmed and Sufia Anwar Samantha spoke on brand-building and consumer strategy.
Shafin Ahmed discussed on-ground market execution from a sales perspective.
From the talent and human resources side, Ashraful Shabab and Sabia Khan Aurora shared insights into recruitment, career progression and the qualities organisations look for in future leaders.
Their experiences as alumni and industry professionals added a personal dimension to the discussion, helping students relate their current academic journey to future career aspirations.
The session included open discussions and question-and-answer segments, allowing students to interact directly with the speakers and receive practical advice based on industry experience.
Organisers said the event helped bridge the gap between academia and industry by turning professional experiences into meaningful guidance for students preparing for their careers.
