Grameenphone has signed an agreement with Shikho, an education technology institution in Bangladesh, to make quality digital education more accessible and affordable for students across the country.
The agreement was signed recently at GPHouse by Grameenphone Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam and Shikho Founder and Chief Executive Officer Shahir Chowdhury.
Senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony.
Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer Yasir Azman; Head of Digital Business Zahiduz Zaman; Head of Brand and Market Communications and Skitto Nafees Anwar Choudhury; Head of Content Business Shomail Ataher; and Head of Platform Business Kazi Rashed Abdallah were present.
Shikho Chief Operating Officer Ishmam Chowdhury also attended the event.
Under the partnership, Grameenphone will bundle Shikho’s premium mathematics courses into its digital offerings, making them available through the MyGP app at discounted rates.
The initiative aims to support students from Class 6 to 10, particularly SSC candidates, while also addressing the needs of parents seeking affordable and reliable academic support.
The partnership will allow students to access structured academic content through a single platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Solaiman Alam said the growing demand for digital learning solutions has created an opportunity to expand access to education through technology.
“With the growing demand for digital learning solutions, this collaboration reinforces Grameenphone’s commitment to enabling inclusive access to education through technology,” he said.
“Through our partnership with Shikho, we are taking a customer-centric approach by integrating high-quality learning content with connectivity and simplified payment options within MyGP, making Shikho’s premium courses accessible to our 22.3 million monthly active MyGP users,” he added.
He said the initiative would make quality education more accessible and affordable, while enhancing customer value and contributing to improved learning outcomes.
Shahir Chowdhury said the partnership aims to simplify access to learning for students.
“Technology only matters when it disappears into the experience. What we are building with Grameenphone is not just integration, it is a simpler way for millions of students to access learning without friction,” he said.
“When discovery, payment and learning come together in one place, access becomes real. That is how you begin to change things at scale,” he added.
