BUFT poster presentation

The Faculty of Apparel Studies at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), through its Department of Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM), organized a “Poster Presentation and Industry Induction Session” on 11 May 2026 at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall.

The programme brought together students, faculty members, and industry representatives to promote academic innovation, research, and industry engagement within the apparel sector.

Mr Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, attended the event as chief guest, while Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice-Chancellor (Designate) of BUFT, joined as guest of honour.

The session was chaired by Prof Dr Engr Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Apparel Studies. Engr Md Saiful Islam Shahin, Group Executive Director of New Asia Group, delivered the keynote address.

Among the special guests were Mr Sabbir Ahmed Abir, Head of the Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management, and Mr Md Monirul Islam Rajib, Head of the Department of Apparel Manufacturing Technology. Mohammad Jahidur Rahman, Country Manager at Tex-Ebo International Pte Ltd, also attended the event.

The programme provided a platform for students to present academic posters, innovative concepts, and industry-oriented projects aimed at strengthening collaboration between academia and the apparel industry.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of practical learning, research-driven innovation, and industry exposure in preparing students for professional careers in the apparel sector. Guests also appreciated the students’ creativity and encouraged them to continue pursuing academic and professional excellence.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment to advancing apparel education and industry-academia collaboration in Bangladesh.
