According to the official holiday schedule and academic calendar, the break will start simultaneously in government primary schools, government and non-government secondary schools, colleges, technical institutions and madrassahs from 24 May. However, students will in practice attend what will be their last day of classes on 21 May (Thursday) before the holiday starts. The weekly Friday and Saturday holidays fall on 22 and 23 May.

Under the holiday schedule, government and non-government primary and secondary schools, colleges, and technical education institutions will be closed from 24 May until 4 June (Thursday). As the weekly holiday falls on 5 and 6 June, teaching will resume on 7 June (Sunday).

This means that students in primary, secondary and technical education will enjoy a continuous break of 16 days, including the weekly holidays.

Meanwhile, holidays at all levels of madrassahs — Alia, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil — will be even longer. As per the madrassah academic calendar, their break will run from 24 May until 11 June (Thursday). Following the weekly holiday on 12 and 13 June, classes will resume on 14 June (Sunday). Madrassah students will thus benefit from a 23-day continuous holiday including weekly breaks.

In addition, as with Ramadan Eid, a continuous seven-day break has also been granted for Eid ul-Adha. The government has declared the Eid holidays from 25 May to 31 May. According to the Cabinet decision, offices will remain open on 23 and 24 May before the Eid break begins.
