International School Dhaka (ISD) recently hosted a warm and engaging Primary Experience Day, welcoming families from Pixieland to its campus in Bashundhara on 20 May, 2026.

Recognising that choosing the right school is a major decision for any family, the event offered Pixieland parents a clear understanding of students’ learning journey and ISD’s activities, both inside and beyond the classroom.

The day began with a meet-and-greet session, followed by the Learning Share session on primary readiness. Led by ISD’s primary educators, this session explained the school’s play-based curriculum and highlighted key development milestones within the IB Primary Years Programme framework. It helped parents understand how the school supports children as they transition from a playgroup setting into primary school.

An Open Q&A with educators allowed parents to engage in authentic dialogue, ask questions, and discuss shared experiences with ISD teachers and parents.

One parent said: “When it comes to our children’s education, parents want nothing but the absolute best for them. This experience at ISD was truly eye-opening for us. Seeing the school’s environment first-hand and interacting with educators and ISD parents has really made our decision-making much easier.”

Dr Michael Palmer, Primary School Principal at ISD, reflected: “Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. Through the Experience Day, we hoped families would gain clarity about our school and feel a genuine sense of comfort, connection, and belonging as they imagined their child here.”

He added: “By opening our doors to the Pixieland parents, a group known for its long-standing focus on social skills and safety, we wanted to provide a firsthand look at our IB Primary Years Programme. Families could see how our supportive and high-quality learning environment fosters curiosity and global citizenship from the very start.”

Pixieland Playgroup, established in 1985, has provided a nurturing and safe environment for young children in Dhaka, focusing on social skills and creative curiosity.

The Experience Day concluded with personalised campus tours, allowing parents and children to explore classrooms, outdoor play areas, and wider school facilities.
