ULAB, ACU discuss international collaboration in higher education
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh hosted a meeting with representatives of the Association of Commonwealth Universities at its campus on 11 June 2026 to explore opportunities for deeper academic collaboration.
The ACU delegation was led by Association of Commonwealth Universities Secretary General and CEO Professor Colin Riordan and ACU Membership Engagement Lead, South Asia, Membership, Programmes and Development, Ikita Pokharna.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ULAB’s engagement with ACU and discussed potential areas of mutual collaboration in line with the ACU Charter.
The discussions focused on their shared commitment to internationalisation, academic partnerships and the advancement of higher education across the Commonwealth.
Speaking about the meeting, the ULAB Vice-Chancellor said, “This engagement with the Association of Commonwealth Universities marked an important step in strengthening ULAB’s international outlook.
“We believe that closer cooperation with the ACU will open new avenues for our students and faculty members and further enhance ULAB’s contribution to higher education and global knowledge sharing.”
The meeting created opportunities for ULAB and ACU to work together on a range of educational initiatives.
Participants expressed optimism that such collaboration would help expand opportunities for ULAB students and faculty members in higher education, research, academic mobility, professional development and doctoral studies.
