East West University hosted panel discussion on AI’s impact on education and the workplace
The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) under the Department of Business Administration at East West University organised a panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence in Industry: Transforming Education and the Future Workplace” on 24 June 2026 at the Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery in Dhaka.
The event aimed to provide students with insights into the growing role of artificial intelligence in industry, business operations, and professional environments, while exploring how emerging technologies were reshaping workplaces and creating new career opportunities.
The discussion featured two industry leaders as guest speakers: Reaz Uddin Khan and Md Tajdiqul Islam.
The speakers shared their perspectives on the practical applications of AI, data-driven decision-making, workforce transformation, and the skills required to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
According to the organisers, the initiative sought to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice by exposing students to contemporary technological developments and professional experiences.
The programme was coordinated by Senior Lecturer Bushra Humyra Esha and Lecturer Munira Parvin of the MIS Department. Faculty members, students, industry professionals, and invited guests attended the session.
Organisers said the discussion encouraged students to develop digital competencies, explore AI-related fields, and better understand the changing demands of the modern workplace.
