World University of Bangladesh (WUB) has been ranked fourth among public and private universities in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, while securing a place in the 601-800 global band.

The rankings assess universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through teaching, research, stewardship and community engagement.

WUB recorded its strongest performance in SDG 4 (Quality Education), where it was ranked 50th globally and second in Bangladesh.

The university also secured a position in the 101-200 global band, ranking second nationally, for its contributions to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

According to the university, the recognition reflects its continued efforts to promote quality education, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and community engagement through academic programmes, research and outreach initiatives.

University authorities said the achievement was made possible through the collective contributions of students, faculty members, researchers, alumni, officers and staff.

They added that WUB will continue to focus on strengthening research and innovation, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, expanding community partnerships and fostering a sustainable and inclusive campus environment.

The university said it remains committed to preparing graduates who can address global challenges through knowledge, innovation and responsible leadership.
