Bangladesh has no shortage of talented people. The problem is that many of them do not always receive the appreciation or platform they deserve. Among those creators is Salman Ahmed, a content creator from Sylhet who has built an audience through his remarkable Mr. Bean-inspired performances.

Salman does not simply dress like Mr. Bean. He studies the character’s expressions, movements and timing, makes scripts, and creates great content. In an age where most online comedy relies on loud jokes, taking a jab at someone, obnoxious slanders and clichéd punchlines, Salman has chosen the path of making people laugh through expressions and physical comedy.

Introducing himself, Salman says, “My name is Salman Ahmed. I’m from Bangladesh and currently live in Sylhet. I have always been passionate about creativity, entertainment and making people smile through comedy.” Unlike many people who treat content creation as a hobby, Salman has dedicated himself fully to the craft by developing ideas, filming and improving the quality of his content.

His admiration for Mr. Bean goes back to childhood, as he explained, “Mr. Bean was one of my favourite characters growing up. My journey started from a genuine admiration for Mr. Bean. I was inspired by his unique style of visual comedy and began experimenting with similar expressions and physical humour in my own videos.”

What awed me the most was his impeccable resemblance to Rowan Atkinson. When asked about it, Salman said, “People around me started mentioning it years ago. As I received more comments about the resemblance, I realised it could help me connect with audiences through Mr. Bean-inspired content.”

And this is how he started his journey, and it has been an exciting journey ever since. At first, as Salman described, it was simple, low-budget comedy videos. He wasn’t sure how people would react, but the response was surprisingly positive and encouraged him to continue. However, building an audience, learning video production and staying consistent were some of the biggest challenges he faced.

Salman expressed, “Like many creators, I had to learn through trial and error.” He also faced doubt from others. “Some people questioned whether comedy content could become something meaningful. However, I stayed focused on my goals and continued improving.”

Perhaps that persistence is what makes his story inspiring. Rather than giving up, he continued refining his craft. And this is exactly what many of our youth require. You may lack the courage, the guidance and may be confused about how to start, but not giving up on something you genuinely enjoy doing is necessary to achieve the desired success.

The attention Salman receives today is an example of that.

What is most impressive about Salman Ahmed is that he has found a way to take a globally recognised style of comedy and give it a local presence. In a country where this form of entertainment is relatively rare, he has shown that there is an audience for visual humour when it is done with dedication and skill.

Whether or not Rowan Atkinson ever sees his videos, Salman’s work is already making people smile. And perhaps that is the greatest tribute any performer can pay to the legendary Mr. Bean.

Bangladesh has many talented creators waiting to be discovered. Salman Ahmed is proof that, with consistency, creativity and a little courage, even an unconventional idea can find its audience.

His journey is a reminder that talent exists everywhere; you just have to start.
