Dhaka University (DU) has announced the schedule for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session, with online applications set to begin on 11 November.

The decisions were taken at a meeting of the university’s General Admission Committee held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam.

According to the announcement, the online application process will begin at 12:00 pm on 11 November and continue until 11:59 pm on 25 November.

Admission tests will be conducted under five units: Arts, Law and Social Science, Science, Business Studies, Fine Arts and IBA.

The IBA admission test will be held on 5 December from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Science Unit examination is scheduled for 12 December, followed by the Arts, Law and Social Science Unit on 19 December. The Fine Arts Unit examination will be held on 22 December, while the Business Studies Unit examination will take place on 26 December.

Except for the IBA Unit, all admission tests will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Admission tests for the Science, Arts, Law and Social Science, and Business Studies units will be conducted simultaneously at eight centres: Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University and Begum Rokeya University.

For the Science, Arts, Law and Social Science, and Business Studies units, candidates will sit for a 60-mark multiple-choice examination and a 40-mark written test. The Fine Arts Unit examination will consist of a 40-mark MCQ test and a 60-mark drawing test, while the IBA Unit will have a 70-mark MCQ section and a 30-mark descriptive section.

Applicants will be assessed on a total of 120 marks, including 100 marks from the admission test and 20 marks based on SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examination results.

Candidates who passed SSC or equivalent examinations between 2021 and 2024 and HSC or equivalent examinations in 2026 will be eligible to apply, subject to unit-specific GPA requirements.

The committee also decided to prepare separate English-medium question papers for English-medium applicants to the Science Unit.

Classes for the 2026–27 academic session are scheduled to begin on 28 March 2027.
