The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and China’s Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen academic cooperation, cultural exchange and collaborative research.

The agreement was signed today and will create opportunities for students, faculty members and researchers at both institutions, according to a press release.

Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange Shen Guihua and ULAB Vice-Chancellor Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

The memorandum establishes a framework for scholarly interaction, cultural exchange, cooperative research and development, joint academic and study programmes, and other forms of institutional collaboration.

The visiting delegation included Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering Tong Zhineng and Associate Professor of the School of Civil Engineering Zhou Xiaoting.

The ULAB delegation included Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Jude William Genilo, PhD; Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees and Treasurer Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, PhD; and Registrar Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam (Retd).

Deans, faculty members and heads of different administrative offices at ULAB also attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement, signed on 3 August, is expected to deepen institutional ties and create new academic and research opportunities for the two universities.
