Southeast University’s School of Law and Department of Pharmacy welcomed their newly admitted students for the Fall 2026 semester at a freshers’ reception and orientation programme on 13 August.

Held at the university’s Multipurpose Hall, the programme provided students with guidance and encouragement as they began their academic journey, according to a press release.

Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat Secretary Barrister Md Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan attended the programme as chief guest, while Synovia Pharma PLC Chief Operating Officer Md Moin Uddin Mazumder was present as guest of honour.

Southeast University School of Law Dean and Programme Convener Professor Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab delivered the welcome address.

Southeast University Registrar (Acting) Wg Cdr Rafiqul Islam (LPR) and Department of Pharmacy Adviser Professor Dr Md Selim Reza also addressed the newly admitted students.

The programme concluded with messages from Southeast University Pro Vice Chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, PhD, and Vice Chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD.

Deans, heads of departments, faculty members, administrative officers and staff also attended the event.

The speakers congratulated the students on their admission and encouraged them to make the best use of their university experience by pursuing academic excellence, discipline, innovation and critical thinking.

They also urged students to participate actively in university programmes and activities.

The speakers said academic success should be accompanied by ethical values, professionalism, social responsibility and a willingness to continue learning.

They encouraged the new students to remain curious, communicate effectively, demonstrate empathy towards others and participate actively in academic and extracurricular activities.
