Brazil have proposed a friendly against Bangladesh on either 5 or 6 October, with the five-time world champions planning to travel to Dhaka with a delegation of around 90 members.

A Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) official, asking not to be named, confirmed the development to The Business Standard today (24 August), saying Brazil are proposing the dates as part of their planned tour.

Brazil’s national football team have never previously visited Bangladesh. If the proposed fixture goes ahead, it would mark the former world champions’ first-ever visit to the country.

The Asean Cup final in Indonesia is scheduled for 3 October, the official said.

“The tournament begins on 24 September, with Bangladesh set to play three group-stage matches. Considering the national team’s busy schedule, the BFF did not immediately give Brazil a final decision,” the official added.

As part of preparations for their tour of India, a five-member Brazilian delegation arrived in Dhaka yesterday.

According to sources, the delegation went straight from the airport to the National Stadium, where they toured almost the entire facility before visiting Bashundhara Kings Arena and later meeting BFF President Tabith Awal that night.
