IUB hosts career assessment programme for aspiring management trainees
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) hosted The Career Boardroom, an MTO and Graduate Trainee Assessment Centre, bringing together students and young professionals with industry leaders for a corporate-style assessment experience.
Organised by IUB’s Career Guidance, Placement & Alumni Relations (CGP&AR), the programme was designed to simulate real-world recruitment and assessment processes, allowing participants to demonstrate analytical thinking, business acumen, problem-solving, communication, judgement, leadership potential and adaptability.
The programme featured four specialised Career Boards covering banking and financial services, FMCG and consumer business, technology, digital and innovation, and RMG and corporate leadership.
The assessment panels included senior professionals from United Commercial Bank, Dhaka Bank, Southeast Bank, Square Toiletries, Meghna Group of Industries, Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh, Pathao Pay, Vivasoft, Jamuna Bank, Renaissance Group and RAK Ceramics.
Participants also received individual feedback from HR and recruitment professionals through a dedicated CV Review Panel. The panel featured representatives from Rancon Holdings, Heavens Group and WSDA New Zealand.
Unlike a conventional mock interview, The Career Boardroom gave participants an opportunity to respond to business and situational challenges while receiving direct insights into corporate expectations from experienced industry professionals.
IUB’s CGP&AR said the initiative aims to create meaningful opportunities for students to develop the skills and confidence needed to transition from university to professional careers.
