Farhan Sadeque, a Computer Science student at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has won a bronze medal in the GreenTech segment of the Project Showcase at the Fibonacci National Olympiad Bangladesh.

Sadeque presented GreenVision, an AI-powered platform that uses existing CCTV cameras as smart environmental monitoring tools.

The platform uses computer vision to detect issues including illegal waste dumping, traffic congestion and flooding. By utilising existing CCTV infrastructure instead of requiring new hardware, GreenVision aims to make environmental monitoring more affordable and scalable.

The project highlights the potential of artificial intelligence and computer vision in addressing environmental and urban challenges.
