The second edition of “AIUBian in Europe” was held at Saalbau Gallus in Frankfurt, Germany, on 29 August 2026, bringing together American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) alumni living across Europe.

More than 250 AIUB alumni and their family members from Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Finland attended the event after being invited.

The gathering provided alums with a platform to reconnect, exchange experiences, strengthen professional relationships, and celebrate their shared identity as members of the AIUB community.

AIUB representatives attending the event included Founder Member of the Board of Trustees Dr Hasanul A Hasan; Founder Member of the Board of Trustees Ishtiaque Abedin; Member of the Board of Trustees and Former Vice Chancellor Dr Carmen Z Lamagna; and Member of the Board of Trustees Shania Mahia Abedin.

The deputy mayor of Frankfurt was also present at the event.

A dedicated team of AIUB alumni organised the gathering with support from volunteers.

The “AIUBian in Europe” initiative was launched in 2024 to bring together AIUB alumni across Europe and foster networking, renewed connections, and a stronger alumni community.

Building on the inaugural edition, this year’s gathering aimed to expand the initiative by encouraging alumni to celebrate their shared achievements and experiences while developing a more connected and collaborative network across Europe and beyond.

The initiative reflects AIUB’s broader commitment to strengthening ties among its graduates and creating opportunities for professional networking, collaboration, mentorship, knowledge exchange, and community-building.

It also highlights the growing international presence of AIUB alums and their contributions across diverse professional and social fields.

With continued engagement from the alumni community, “AIUBian in Europe” aims to remain a platform for meaningful connections, foster a strong sense of belonging, and strengthen the relationship between AIUB and its graduates worldwide.
