Feni University student Abdullah Al Monir and his team, Novatrix, have won the Gold Award in the robotics and drone category at the World Sustainable Development Goals (WSDG) Challenge 2026 in Malaysia.

The gold was among four awards won by the team at the three-day competition, held from 25 to 27 September, 2026 at Tun Chancellor Hall, Multimedia University in Cyberjaya. The event brought together more than 1,200 participants from 24 countries, according to the press release.

Monir, a student from the 33rd batch of Feni University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), served as the software development lead for the team’s project, titled “AI Powered Military Defence System & Robo Simulation App”.

The project drew praise from the international judging panel for its innovation.

Alongside the Gold Award, Team Novatrix received the WSDG 2026 Top 5 Award for securing fourth place worldwide across all project categories and the WSDG 2026 Platinum Award for overall excellence.

The team also won the International Best Presentation Award, titled “A Distinguished Tribute to Excellence Award”.
