Remians Cultural Club of Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC) will organise “Talent Verse 2026” on 2 October, 2026 to discover and nurture students’ talents in literature, performing arts, music, public speaking and intellectual activities.

The day-long programme will run from 8:30am to 4pm on the college campus, with free registration for all Remians, according to the press release.

Designed as an inclusive platform, the event aims to bring together students with diverse abilities and connect them with opportunities to develop and showcase their talents.

The initiative reflects the club’s efforts to help students explore their abilities beyond the classroom. The college also emphasises co-curricular activities as a means of supporting students’ physical, mental and overall development. Recitation, acting, storytelling and music form part of its wider extracurricular tradition.

The programme will feature nine segments: recitation, acting or mime, singing, poetry writing, story writing, extempore speech, acoustic instrumental music, serial storytelling and quiz.

Through these activities, the club aims to identify students whose talents may not always receive adequate opportunities for formal recognition within the academic environment.

The organisers said the programme’s purpose extends beyond selecting winners. It will serve as a platform for identifying promising students and providing them with opportunities to participate in cultural activities, competitions and programmes within and outside the college.

With more than 7,000 students enrolled at DRMC, the initiative seeks to reach a broad and diverse student community, encouraging participation across academic levels and backgrounds.

The club has also been working to help students enter external cultural competitions and represent the institution on different platforms. It said its talent-search initiatives had identified hundreds of students over the years who subsequently participated in competitions at various venues and earned recognition for their achievements.

The vision of “Talent Verse 2026” is to establish a lasting culture of talent discovery, artistic expression and student participation, giving every Remian an opportunity to identify and develop their abilities.

Its aims include discovering emerging talent, providing an accessible and inclusive platform for creative expression, and encouraging students to pursue cultural and intellectual activities alongside their academic education.

The programme also seeks to develop a pool of talented students for future club programmes and competitions, strengthen confidence, communication skills, creativity and stage presence, and connect promising participants with institutional, national and international opportunities.

The organisers said their key objectives included expanding participation in cultural activities, identifying previously undiscovered talent, encouraging creative expression, developing future performers and writers, and strengthening extracurricular engagement at DRMC.

The event will also help the club identify students for future workshops, productions, cultural teams, competitions and other initiatives.

Remians Cultural Club President Nahiyan Zaman Sammo said, “Talent does not always announce itself from a stage; sometimes, it remains hidden in a classroom, a hostel room, a notebook, a quiet voice or an unexplored passion. Talent Verse 2026 is our effort to find those voices and give them a stage.”

He added, “We want every Remian to know that culture is not reserved for a selected few – it belongs to everyone. Our purpose is not simply to find winners for a day, but to discover talents who can grow, represent DRMC and carry their creativity far beyond the boundaries of our campus. If even one student discovers their potential through this platform and finds the courage to pursue it, Talent Verse 2026 will have fulfilled its purpose.”

Nahiyan emphasised that the initiative aimed to make cultural participation more accessible across the college and strengthen a culture in which talent is recognised, nurtured and given meaningful opportunities.

With no registration fee, the organisers are encouraging students from across DRMC to participate in their preferred segment and showcase abilities that might otherwise remain unexplored. Activities will begin at 8:30am on Friday and conclude at 4pm.
