The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted the HR Summit 2026 yesterday (16 October) at its permanent campus in Mohammadpur, bringing together HR professionals, corporate representatives, and industry experts.
The event aimed to help students develop the skills needed in a rapidly evolving job market.
Held on 16 October, 2026, the day-long summit featured discussions on career planning, professional skills development, CV writing, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in career development. It also gave students direct access to industry professionals and practical insights into corporate expectations and emerging employment trends.
Organised by the ULAB School of Business in collaboration with the university’s Career Services Office, the summit included the Professional CV Competition 2026, a panel discussion, career guidance sessions, and a special session on effective CV writing. It awarded and certified the top three CV submissions, while the top 10 participants received certificates of excellence.
The programme began with an inaugural address by Professor Shamsad Mortuza, vice-chancellor of Ulab. A panel discussion followed on the topic “How Graduate Students and Professionals Can Prepare Themselves for the Changing Industry Landscape Due to the AI Revolution in the Job Market of Bangladesh”.
AF Wazir Ahmad, associate professor and director of the Bachelor of Business Administration programme at Ulab, emphasised the importance of developing industry-relevant skills to prepare students for future career opportunities.
Mohammad Tawhid Reaz, senior lecturer and director of the graduate business programme, highlighted the value of continuous learning, practical experience, and industry engagement in navigating the changing job market.

A special session titled “Using AI for CV Writing and Career Development” was conducted by Faham Kabir, human resource manager at Daraz. The session explored how AI-powered tools can support effective CV preparation and help individuals plan their professional development.
Additionally, Bdjobs.com conducted a career insights session covering career planning, CV improvement, job-search strategies, and recent recruitment trends.
The organisers emphasised that academic knowledge alone is no longer enough for success in today’s professional environment. They noted that communication skills, leadership abilities, technological proficiency, professional ethics, and adaptability are essential for career advancement.
The summit underscored the need for stronger collaboration between universities and corporate organisations to prepare graduates to meet industry needs.
