Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) hosted the “Pathways to Leadership” roadshow 2026 to introduce students to the bank’s upcoming management trainee officer recruitment process and help them prepare for selection.
Organised by IUB’s Office of Career Guidance, Placement and Alumni Relations in collaboration with MTB, the programme took place at the university’s DMK Lecture Gallery on 13 October, 2026, according to the press release.
MTB representatives explained the application procedure, examination stages and preparation strategies, alongside the benefits and career development opportunities available through the bank’s management trainee programme.
AKM Tareq, deputy managing director and head of the Branch Banking Division at MTB, and Sharmin Akhter, head of recruitment, Group Human Resources, attended as speakers.
They shared insights into the bank’s recruitment process, its expectations of prospective candidates and the professional opportunities available to successful applicants.
Md Wasim Jabber, MCIPS, treasurer of IUB, delivered the welcome address. He highlighted the importance of connecting students directly with employers and equipping them with practical knowledge to pursue corporate careers.
The roadshow gave students a clearer understanding of how to apply for MTB’s management trainee officer positions and prepare for recruitment examinations, helping them make informed decisions about careers in banking.
IUB said the initiative reflected its commitment to strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, connecting students with prospective employers and expanding access to career opportunities.
