12 IUBAT researchers named among world’s top 2% scientists
Twelve researchers from the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) have been named among the world’s top 2% scientists in the 2026 list published by Stanford University and Elsevier.
The list was released on 7 October, recognising researchers from several disciplines at the university, according to the press release.
Those named include Professor Dr Golam Rasul, professor and chair of the Department of Economics; Dr Suvash Chandra Paul, professor in the Department of Civil Engineering; and Dr Md Harun Ur Rashid, professor and coordinator of the Department of Chemistry.
The list also includes Dr Md Nazirul Islam Sarker, professor at the College of Agricultural Sciences; Dr Mohammad Badruddoza Talukder, associate professor and chairman of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management; and Dr Md Moniruzzaman, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Other researchers recognised are Dr Nayem Hossain, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr Md Shouquat Hossain, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Md Alamin Talukder, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Moustaq Karim Khan Rony of the College of Nursing.
Md Mahmud Zobair and Md Mobarak Hosne of the Department of Mechanical Engineering were also included.
The university said the recognition strengthened its international reputation and represented an achievement for higher education and research in Bangladesh.
IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdur Rab and Treasurer Professor Selina Nargis congratulated the researchers on their success.
The university authorities expressed gratitude to faculty members, students, officers, staff, alumni and others for their contributions. They also reaffirmed IUBAT’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and developing a world-class institution.
Founded in 1991 by Professor Dr M Alimullah Miyan, IUBAT describes itself as Bangladesh’s first private university.
