49 NSU students earn places in global Millennium Fellowship 2026
A total of 49 students from North South University (NSU) have been selected for the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2026, a global leadership development programme organised by the Millennium Campus Network (MCN) and United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI).
The semester-long programme equips undergraduate students with leadership skills, resources and international networking opportunities to develop social impact initiatives on their campuses and in their communities, according to a press release.
The 2026 selection process attracted more than 76,000 applications from over 6,000 campuses across 170 countries. More than 330 campuses in 60 countries were selected to host over 5,500 Millennium Fellows, representing approximately 5% of applicant campuses worldwide.
At NSU, the selected students have been divided into two cohorts, with 25 fellows in Cohort A and 24 in Cohort B. Each cohort is led by two campus directors who coordinate fellowship activities, support leadership development and guide student-led initiatives.
Cohort A is led by Rafiah Binte Mizan of the Department of Business Administration, whose project is titled MindBridge, and Afia Zahin Hoque of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, who is leading Shobuj Shift.
Cohort B is led by Reesha Ahmed of the Department of Economics, whose project is titled Share Your Closet, and Md Saki Redoan Hamid of the Department of Finance and Management Information Systems, who is leading Skill-Bridge.
During the fellowship semester, the students will take part in leadership training, workshops, collaborative activities and community engagement programmes while implementing their respective initiatives.
The programme will also connect the fellows with an international network of emerging leaders, allowing them to exchange ideas and strengthen their capacity to contribute to social change.
NSU’s participation in the 2026 cohort reflects its focus on student leadership, social responsibility and community engagement.
