American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) celebrated “Physics Day 2026” on Thursday (30 April) with a day-long programme jointly organised by the Department of Natural Science (Physics) under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and the AIUB Astronomy and Space Science Club.

Students, faculty members, researchers and invited guests participated in the event, which featured academic engagement alongside interactive student-led activities.

Ms Farzana Sabit served as convener of the organising committee and coordinated the overall programme.

The inaugural session was attended by AIUB Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdur Rahman, Professor Dr A B M Siddiq Hossain and Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan.

One of the key highlights of the event was a student project exhibition showcasing innovative academic work. A quiz competition was also held as part of the programme, with winners awarded prizes across different categories.

Organisers said the event aimed to encourage scientific curiosity among students and promote engagement in physics and space science through practical learning and participation.
